Neurodevelopmental diseases present a challenge to medicine. Our strategy for making inroads focuses on primary cilia, antenna-like structures that protrude from most cells of our body. By studying the cell signaling that stems from primary cilia, we aim to gain insight into the molecular pathways that dictate brain development, and how signaling errors translate into developmental disorders.
